Description

i stand here in this world alone,
no kin of mine to take the sword,
no son or daughter of my own,
a bitter and a sad reward,

but Redwall in its hour of need,
will bring forth one to follow me,
to that one, valiant in deed,
i leave a warrior's legacy...

~Legend of Luke

okay after a long hiatus/lackofmuse, i was browsing redwall fanart and got the idea for this. it's rough, out of proportion/perspective sortof, but it's something. i wanted to draw Martin in an original style, not something of off the 'cartoon' *shudder* or something like that. not sure if he looks enough like a mouse or not, or if i got the expression right, so critiques welcome!

also my first time trying to do a more detailed landscape, opinions welcome on how i did. not sure if i want this to be a winter or summer landscape.

UPDATE: I redrew Martin to make him look more like a mouse. Critiques WELCOME! I think his left arm is wonky, but I don't know how to fix it.

UPDATE: This is really becoming a project of mine; thanks for all the critiques! I added more detail, attempted to fix his arms/proportions and didn't do too much to his head, because frankly I'm struggling with making him more 'mousey'. So I'm still working on that. I know it's a scribbly mess, but I hope to make it a final piece eventually. I think I may leave it greyscale. Opinions? How is the landscape coming along, any suggestions? Thanks for all the helpful comments!

UPDATE: Thanks for bearing with me! This is my first serious project for a long while, and I really appreciate all the comments and help.

I think you did an awesome job! You have made Marin looks very stoic and wise here.
